Danish Road Tax Information
As of 1 January 2025, Denmark will introduce a new kilometre-based and CO2-differentiated road tax for lorries weighing 12 tonnes or more.
What is the new Danish road tax?
The Danish road tax is a new tax that will apply to all vehicles using the roads in Denmark from 01.01.2025. This includes cars, trucks and other vehicles that travel on Danish roads.
This tax is based on how far the trucks travel and how much CO2 they emit. The purpose of this tax is to reduce CO2 emissions and cover the socio-economic costs that truck traffic entails, such as wear and tear on infrastructure, accidents, noise and air pollution.
